As a recently graduated student from Purdue University, I am earned a division one Bachelors degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management as well as gained experience in the industry through internships, a part time job position, and labs where we were immersed in the daily hotel and restaurant operations.Before I attended Purdue University, I spent 2 years at Richland Community College in Decatur, Illinois. While I was attending this school, I was the vice-president of Student Government, held a position on the Judicial Board, was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Program, and was the Student Trustee on the Board of Trustees for the 2020-2021 school year. These organizations gave me leadership experience and the ability to manage teams of people with conflicting schedules effectively. I have 3+ years of hotel experience working as a Front Desk Agent. I have worked for Drury Hotels and Marriott, ran by Tharldson Management Company. Over the summer of 2022, I completed an internship at Catawba Island Club. I was a Customer Service Intern, where I oversaw the operations of the main dining room during service. I learned collaborative leadership, problem solving, and customer service skills that will be beneficial to me as I enter the work force following my education. Outside of my studies, I am a very organized person who enjoys music, unique experiences, and other entertainment. I was involved with band, choir, drama, dance, and color guard in high school, and I continue to enjoy all kinds of Fine Arts today. I participated in an exchange program to Germany in 2019, and fell in love with traveling. I hope to one day be able to explore different cultures and see as much of the world as I can.
