I have worked in the textile industry for the last 20 years. I have held several roles throughout my career, including Manufacturing Manager, Scheduling Manager, Master Scheduler and Schedule Analyst. I have learned many skills during this time, but the most important concept I learned is that people are everything. I would not have glided through my roles at Interface without the support and encouragement from the people around me. While creating new processes, standard work, and implementing new processes, I realized that the best way to be successful is by working with your team and collaborating with other departments to make sure you are creating the most value for all stakeholders. Change management is one of the most difficult management skills to master. I learned that allowing associates to be a part of the process, letting them teach you, and then teaching them to trust you are all an important part of change management. Safety, continuous improvement, team building, collaboration, planning/scheduling, environmental responsibility, problem-solving and operations management are just a few of the skills I have picked up along my journey.
