About Virginia Larson
I am a post-doctoral researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), researching liquid alkaline water electrolysis, specifically the degradation mechanisms and impact of electrolyte impurities. In my PhD research I developed earth-abundant transition metal molecular complexes for water splitting, specifically, hydrogen evolution with molecular cobalt catalysts and spectroscopic investigation of reactive metal-oxygen complexes. My goal is to use my expertise and skills in electrocatalytic, spectroscopic, and synthetic chemistry to continue to research chemistry to help develop a more sustainable future.
