I felt like an artist since the day I was born.But, like many, I was compelled not to choose this career.Instead, I went for the most challenging subjects I could find, outside my comfort zone. Fortunately, I always believed that we can be and do almost everything we put our minds into.I studied Technology Management, and went on to work for large corporations. I had the opportunity to live and work in exciting cities like Lisbon, London, Paris, New York and Geneva in high-profile positions. There, I’ve learned how to be a strategic businesswoman.But after 10 years, I felt drained and unfulfilled. Change was calling.My art was always there as a space for mental rest and evasion. Searching for a deeper connection with my natural abilities I found a way to integrate creativity in my professional life: I specialised in interior design and, while in Switzerland, started a company that has been successful till this day. I also opened the first co-working space in Geneva with an innovative concept that included an art gallery. Another 15 years passed and change called again. I’ve moved back to Portugal and felt it was time for more self-exploration through art. And more importantly, it was time to share it. My art studio was born.I found the healing power of my artworks in the response, narratives and poems that have been written by those touched by them. This defied me to understand more about the force that lies in art.Currently, I’m an active researcher in neuroscience and psychology related to architecture and, especially, art. My new project, Arts & Mind, brings together a multidisciplinary team of experts focused on promoting the impact of the arts on health.
