I am a community leader that is focused on our future and the well-being of children and families. I have over 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience in education, family, and community services including tenure at the the first Mandarin immersion private school in the nation and the first and largest Head Start/Early Head Start child care and education program in San Francisco. I am a pragmatic, data-driven, visionary focused on tangible outcomes.Most recent achievements:As a member of the core executive team of 7, led the organization’s growth from $20M in 2016 to $80M in 2024 by building internal capacity and strengthening relationships.Transformed culture of organization by leading complete visual and message rebranding to strengthen its presence and reputation. Led organization-wide implementation, adoption, and engagement plan.Led Senior Team to develop 5 year strategic vision, refine program opportunities, craft theory of change, and implement organization-wide adoption of technology to deepen impact.Developed over 150 grant proposals for multicultural and multilingual early childhood education programming to address citywide equity issues.Curated and designed flagship International Children’s Day community events growing from 200 to 800 attendees over 3 years.Developed crisis communication plan throughout the pandemic. Coordinated distribution of food and basic necessities to communities in need.Served on Guiding Council to develop DEI climate surveys, build racial solidarity, and broaden our reach among BIPOC communities internally and externally to strengthen support and increase resource connection for underserved children and families. Won grant to design and implement civic engagement and outreach plan in hard-to-reach communities for 2020 Census. In collaboration with 30+ organizations in Chinatown and Bayview, mobilized local businesses and community ambassadors to educate SF residents.Activated voters to successfully pass “Baby” Prop C and Prop F resulting in $149M annual city budget to increase access to early care and education, increase educator wages, expand family child care subsidies, and develop an early educator workforce.Other volunteer work includes the Committee of 100 Next Generation Leadership and Wah Mei School ExCEL Parent Advisory. I am also Co-Founder and VP of Give a Beat Foundation, a nonprofit providing art education as a pathway to healing and opportunity for those impacted by mass incarceration.
