I love tackling a big org-wide problem that has gone unsolved for years, and I use the human-centered design framework to ensure I develop long-lasting tools & processes that meet diverse needs. National Project Manager

In this role, I was responsible for stewarding key projects and leading org-wide internal communication and change management activities related to BUILD's rapid growth and shifting program model, all while continuing to lead the organization's knowledge management work. My work included:- Developed first org-wide Internal Communications strategy. Used human-centered design process to determine needs and solicit input from staff across 5 regional offices, 4 remote national teams, and a cross-functional DEI cohort. Streamlined key communication channels. Established RACI for timely information dissemination.- Developed and implemented org-wide change management plans to communicate a rapidly-shifting program model, curriculum, and implementation strategy. Created new communication structures, tools, and feedback processes for 70+ staff impacted by new developments. Coached executive leadership in developing and implementing communication plans for other high-impact changes.- Led the Learning, Innovation, and Impact Team as one of four co-leads. Drove core team functions such as determining annual priorities, setting meeting agendas, and planning annual retreat.- Project manager for 4 critical projects simultaneously with combined budget over $1.5M (including digital games and a Learning Management System). Led multiple cross-functional teams using agile/waterfall hybrid methodology. Reported progress and data org-wide. Communicated priorities, risks, and schedules to executive leadership team.- Using human-centered design, developed and implemented a system to ensure tracking of and adherence to output/activity/outcome requirements listed in several multi-year, multi-million dollar grants.- Evaluated org-wide gaps in project management skills. Developed template for project management, led staff training, and coached key project leaders toward improvement.- Continued to maintain and improve BUILD’s knowledge management systems, outlined in role below.

National Manager, Systems Improvement And Knowledge Management

In this inaugural role, I created order out of chaos. In the span of less than one year, I developed and implemented key systems that transformed BUILD’s ability to collaborate effectively.My work included:- Defined, developed, implemented, and oversaw organization's inaugural knowledge management (KM) systems. Evaluated and optimized KM systems annually based on data.- Identified and implemented optimal technology suite to support org’s KM goals. Migrated national organization (5 regional offices and 4 remote national teams) to centralized document management, productivity, and communication platforms. Tracked down and closed 30+ rogue email and document-management tools. Established processes for platform usage and maintenance, including creating and maintaining unified file taxonomy.- Created an “single source of truth” intranet used daily by 70+ staff members. Recruited key staff to maintain information.- Developed and implemented change management strategy to ensure adoption of new processes, systems, and technology.- Create and maintain documentation and manuals of core processes and systems, in order to streamline work and ensure collection and dissemination of best practices and historical knowledge across 5 regions and a remote national team.- Oversaw 10+ organization-wide communities of practice, ensuring job-alike roles met regularly to discuss best practices, share knowledge, and document lessons learned. Recruited and trained cohort leaders, and provided with resources.- Developed comprehensive asynchronous onboarding program to orient new hires to organizational systems. Led HR team’s project to streamline and automate overall onboarding process to ensure a consistent positive experience and minimize knowledge gaps. Developed an offboarding process to capture knowledge from departing employees.
