Current-Review proposal contract documents and attend pre-bid meetings as required-Prepare and organize documents required for a complete and responsive bid proposal-Calculate takeoffs from plans to determine quantity accuracy-Visit project for a comprehensive understanding of site logistics, restrictions, and conditions-Develop a strategy for execution of work in the most cost-effective manner-Prepare detailed breakdown of components and elements of estimates, including tasks, production rates, and unit costs.-Review potential Value Engineering opportunities-Develop and review project risk with the Estimating team-Solicit quotes from material suppliers and potential subcontractors-Maintain and expand communications and relationships with vendors, including DBE / VOSB outreach efforts-Review, analyze, and incorporate historical data from bid tabs, previous job estimates, FOIA requests, and completed projects to help with the preparation of the estimate-Work closely with Operations, Project Managers, and Materials Managers during the bidding process to ensure accuracy of data used to estimate the project-Lead the handoff of information to project management to be fully educated in all strategies, opportunities, and risks that were recognized in the bidding process-Provide material requirement needs & information to Quality Control and Manufacturing managers-Review all change order requests prepared by project management to confirm if the maximized profit opportunity-Conduct progress and post-construction review of projected and actual construction costs compared to estimated bid costs
