During more than 5 years I worked as a researcher in the Nanostructured Films and Particles (NFP) group supervised by Professor Dr. J. Santamaría. The NFP group was created in 2007 with the aim of concentrating efforts in the development and application of nanostructured materials, with an emphasis on nanoparticles, nanoporous interfaces and hybrid systems. It belongs to the Nanoscience Institute of Aragon (INA), an interdisciplinary research Institute placed in Spain and focused on R+D in nanoscience and nanotechnology.My PhD was focused in Nanosafety and Nanotechnology. Funded by a competitive Predoctoral Research Fellowship (FPU) by the Spanish Ministry of Education. - Spanish and European projects participation: Nanosost, Nanovalid and Nanosustain. - Funding obtained: FPU fellowship, DGA fellowship and several travel grants.- International research organizations collaboration: CSIC (Spain), Salerno University (Italy), University of Copenhagen (Denmark) and Universidade do Minho (Portugal). - Esteem: 11 papers published, conferences and outreach participation. - Two PhD awards: Extraordinary Award for Doctoral Thesis and Barcelona Award for Best Doctoral Thesis in Occupational Health in Spain.During this time I have acquired skills in:- Exposure, hazard identification and risk assessment activities in the Nanosafety field.- Experimental nanomaterials chemistry, specifically in synthesis, processing, and characterization of nanoparticles.- Several techniques of nanoparticle characterization.- Lab and field aerosol measurement research and experience with aerosol instrumentation e.g. CPC, OPC, SMPS, ELPI and APS among others.- Data collection and statistical analysis.
Visiting Phd Student
During a 4 month period of predoctoral stay, supervised by Professor Dr. K. Jensen, I gained experience in exposure, hazard identification and risk assessment activities in the Nanosafety field. The results were shown at the International Conference on Safe Production and Use of Nanomaterials, NANOSAFE, (Grenoble, France, 2012) as a contribution to the subject under the title of “Nanomaterial Release from Nanocomposites during Reworking Processes”.The National Research Centre for the Working Environment (NRCWE) is a government research Institute under the Ministry of Employment in Denmark. The mission of the NRCWE is to monitorize, analyze and explore the actual conditions in the working environment related to health, safety and work role functioning.

The National Center for Metallurgical Research (CENIM) belongs to the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) in the Area of Science and Technology of Materials. During a 3 month period of predoctoral stay, supervised by researcher Dr. M.
