I, Dr. Virinchi Thota is a practising Consultant Psychiatrist with an experience of 7 years in Psychiatry. I secured my medical degree in MBBS from the prestigious Sri Venkateswara Medical College in Tirupati, Andhra and completed my MD in Psychiatry from Narayana Medical College, Nellore. During my MD, I worked and gained experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NIMHANS, Bangalore along with working in dept. of Addiction Medicine and Forensic Psychiatry. Later on,trained in Clinical Neurology at NIMS, Hyderabad. My practice involves diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of Psychiatric illness in both in and out-patient settings. Post MD I worked as Community and Rehabilitation Psychiatrist at NIMHANS, Bangalore. Later on, took the charge of the Acute Psychiatric Care Unit and Addiction Medicine at the Institute of Mental Health, Hyderabad, the largest mental institute in Telangana and worked very closely with the patients of de-addiction and patients of various mental illnesses during the times of the Covid pandemic. I worked for the largest Government Hospital in the city of Hyderabad, Gandhi Hospital where I dealt with different medical specialties in liaison to treat mental commodities in Children to Geriatric population and people with neurological illnesses, anxiety spectrum and common mental disorders. Prior to joining Maarga People Tree Hospital, I was working in Patiala, Punjab as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the de-addiction center, a place which is endemic to various bio socioeconomic drug dependence problems and treated patients suffering from the Opioid Epidemic. My main speciality is in Addiction Medicine, Child to Geriatric General Psychiatry and Neuro Psychiatry.
