I joined FOSSA as one of the early members of the newly-formed Infrastructure team and streamlined the installation of the FOSSA monolith by creating a parametrized Helm chart, simplifying on-premises installations and upgrades of the application.

As a founding member of Lob's infrastructure team, much of my work centered around creating best practices and tooling to help the engineering team more easily and securely create AWS cloud infrastructure. A non-exhaustive list of things I have been lucky to do at Lob include• establishing a culture of defining AWS resources using Terraform• facilitating a cross-account resource migration (including production RDS databases and S3 buckets)• maintaining a multi-account multi-VPC networking ecosystem through VPC peering and routing• maintaining an in-house logging pipeline, based on Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Redis• bootstrapping a beta Kubernetes cluster and CLI tooling to deploy to it• setting up and peering a Pritunl VPN server with our internal infrastructure

I worked with students in introductory programming and algorithms courses to help them understand concepts in C++, Java, and Discrete Mathematics.

I worked on Lob's RESTful Print & Mail API and grew my JavaScript (Node.js) and PostgreSQL experience here. This internship taught me software engineering best practices, such as collaborating using Git, knowledge sharing and quality assurance through code review, and enforcing sufficient code coverage through exhaustive testing.

Joining NectarOM as part of their first-ever intern cohort, I mostly worked with MongoDB and back-end JavaScript (using the Node.js runtime) on the API that powered customer-facing web applications. Additionally, I had opportunities to work on one-off Python scripts, the React JavaScript library, and general front-end JavaScript alongside basic HTML/CSS.

As a Peer Advisor, I was stationed in a 24/7 customer-facing role, working shifts at the residence hall front desk, participating in the rotating on-call schedule for lockouts and emergencies, and building meaningful relationships with my residents as a peer, mentor, and campus resource.
