Currently I work in the Systems Engineering organization for vCloud Air on our Public Sector team. Public vCloud Air. is built on VMware vSphere and allows IT to quickly and seamlessly extend their data center into the cloud using the tools and processes they already have. A new and cool direction for this amazing company.At this point I had been at VMware for 16+ years. I began as the first Field Systems Engineer. I have held many roles in my at VMware. These include field customer, alliances, and partners. In the early days of VMware I was tasked with selling this new paradigm shift in computing that we now know as virtualization I have presented to almost every major bank, financial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and energy institution. These include companies like GE, Bank of America, American Express, Goldman Sachs, United Healthcare, Marriott, Merck, Johnson & Johnson, and many more. I also serve as a speaker on behalf of the office of the CTO as a Senior Cloud Computing Strategist. I evangelize and present at CIO events and the like on behalf of our office of the CTO. I have presented at VMworld, EMCWorld, CiscoLive, and NetApp Insight in front of 3500-4000 attendees. I also run the Lab Staff Operations of 250+ staff for VMware's VMworld & Partner Exchange events which have 20,000 and 6,000 attendees respectively. This is a team of Systems Engineers, Architects, Consultants, and technologists from all disciplines. They literally came from all over the world. We had people from South Africa, Israel, Australia, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Russia, Germany, Spain, Canada, USA, Dubai, Italy, Ireland, UK, Bulgaria, Austria, France, Belgium, and other countries. From this diverse group that I recruit comes a well-orchestrated cohesive team. In 3-4 days we deploy and support 100,000+ virtual machines as the attendees take our hands on labs. This is a complex multi-faceted operation and one of a kind in the world.

As part of a team of 6 we ran the HQ datacenter and Network in Washington DC for The NASD (Now FINRA) and Nasdaq Stock Market. In my time there we had many technology shifts. It started in the move from terminal based computing to a Windows desktop. We moved from Netware 3.x to Netware 4. We subsequently moved to a Windows NT environment. We also upgraded from 10 mbps shared Ethernet to a Cisco switched network. An entire network upgrade. I also specialized in Complex document and records management systems. Ran a multi-year project to develop abroad document and records management system for the Office of general Counsel. This included custom developed interfaces and integration of 6-8 disparate systems. This was in the days before suites of products accomplished this.

Spent two years in Mannheim Germany and 5 years in 3rd Battalion 505th parachute infantry regiment 82nd Airborne. Served as a squad leader and the Battalion Air Operation NCO. Completed JFK Special Warfare Center's SERE school and Jumpmaster school. Attained Master Parachutist. I was responsible for deploying two major combat missions. Operation Just Cause where I was responsible for 20 heavy equipment aircraft and 20 personnel aircraft. All of which were loaded for airdrop and deployed for their objectives on time. I was also the senior AIR NCO for operation Desert Shield. I flew out of Pope Air Force base for Saudi Arabia on the last aircraft. I received medals for both operations.
