About Dr. Vishakha Tiwarekar
With over 9 years of diverse experience in academic and industrial scientific research, I am a passionate and performance-driven scientist in the field of virology, immunology, and molecular biology. I have worked on various projects in Germany and India, focusing on understanding the mechanisms of viral infection and immunity, and developing novel vaccines and therapeutics against emerging and re-emerging viral diseases.Most recently, I was a scientist at Paul-Ehrlich-Institut, where I investigated the preclinical efficacy of a measles vector-based MERS-Corona vaccine. I applied my expertise in cell culture, virus cultivation, gene cloning, flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISpot, western blot, and RT-qPCR to evaluate the immunogenicity and protection of the vaccine candidate in animal models. I also conducted experiments in BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories, and completed the FELASA-B certification.
