Query Optimization Intern - Accelerated the release of the cost optimizer by completing several key features, from design, to development, testing, and merging with the main branch, all within 8 weeks of my internship.1. Developed features to retrieve statistics and histograms for edge & datetime attributes for transition from heuristic to cost based optimizer, and enabled toggle to install query with cost optimizer. This is merged and currently in production. 2. Designed and developed DDL statements capability for creating/showing/ dropping histograms through the GSQL shell. This was merged and is currently in production. 3. Designed and developed post process hooks to clear statistics on drop of vertex/edges/graphs. This is merged with the latest release. 4. Used the LDBC benchmark and LDBC BI queries to verify and analyze the improvements of the cost optimizer.

1. Successfully deployed over 200 metrics for Developer experience tools used at Akamai utilizing Influx, Grafana, Cassandra, and the ELK stack while minimizing the impact on the impacted systems.2.
