My core competence lies in the area of cyber law, cyber crime investigation process, legal aspects of cyber security in India, policy, data privacy, technology contracts & IT Act compliance. Member, Advisory Committee for training and certification of CISOs, Dy. CISOs & Aspirants constituted under the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Project Phase-Ill. I actively engineered the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay which resulted in the appointment of adjudicating officers who were not appointed even after two years of enforcement of the Information Technology Act, 2000 to decide the fate of multi crore cyber crime cases in India. The PIL also resulted in the appointment of Chairman of the Cyber Appellate Tribunal and establishment of Cyber Appellate Tribunal at New Delhi. [Vishal Kumar & Ors Vs. Union of India & Ors. PIL 61 / 02 Judgement Dated 09.10.2002]I was member of the Twelfth Plan Working Group on Cyber Laws and Legal Framework and also Working Group on Cyber Security. Chairman of the Sub Group constituted under the main Working Group particularly suggesting the emerging legal framework towards issues of Internet, Intellectual Property Law and Internet Governance.
