Network Engineer at Kerala State Wide Area Network ( KSWAN PROJECT )Kerala State Wide Area Network (KSWAN) is being setup as a backbone of the State InformationInfrastructure (SII), connecting to 14 districts and 152 Blocks of the State. The network will also connect3000+ offices of Government Departments through Wireless and a larger number through Leased Linesand LAN. Responsible for monitoring the KERALA STATE WIDE AREA network, responding to outages, and circuitproblems. Trouble shooting and problem resolution of elusive customer network difficulties Turned up new customer Local Area Connection, Leased line, Wireless circuits as required. Opened troubletickets, and interfaced with telecommunications providers to resolve issues on both new and existing circuits. Designed and implemented new KSWAN POPs, consolidating existing POPs in locations where multipleacquisitions each previously had a presence. Redundant uplink and power sources were provisioned whenpossible, and plans established for possible failure scenarios. Generated profit and loss reports for individual POPs, and recommended either their continued existence orclosure based on their findings. Responsible for wide area network design of the Kerala state internal network serving more than 400 nodes for KSWAN divisionsInitiatives / Achievements: Identify & pursue opportunities for continuous improvement. Personally handled on-site analysis, inspection and implementation of proposed solutions. Monitored service quality involved in daily contact with end-users to troubleshoot and resolve problems. Controlling the KSWAN (Kerala State Wide Area Network) in Idukki District by configuring new customers with equipment's and troubleshooting the existing network issues of KSWAN POPs.
