Linux System Administrator
CurrentCore Responsibilities 1. System Administration and Monitoring ◦ Perform daily system administration tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operation of Linux systems. ◦ Monitor and update tickets/issues through the Incident Management System for timely issue resolution. 2. Installation and Configuration ◦ Install and configure Linux operating systems such as RedHat and Ubuntu. ◦ Install and configure other operating systems including Windows 10 & 11 as needed. 3. Email Client Configuration ◦ Configure and maintain email clients including Microsoft Outlook 2003/2007, Thunderbird, and Outlook Express. 4. User and Group Administration ◦ Manage user and group accounts, including creation, modification, deletion, and setting permissions. 5. Server Monitoring ◦ Monitor Linux servers for disk space utilization, CPU utilization, and memory utilization to ensure optimal performance. 6. Package Management ◦ Utilize Linux package management tools such as rpm and yum for software installation and management. 7. Job Scheduling ◦ Schedule and manage automated tasks using Crontab to ensure regular system maintenance and updates. 8. Network Security ◦ Ensure the network remains virus-free using Kaspersky antivirus software. 9. Issue Analysis and Resolution ◦ Analyze and rectify login and booting issues promptly. ◦ Troubleshoot system accessibility problems, poor system performance, network connectivity problems, file transfer failures, and high resource utilization scenarios. 10. Server Management ◦ Install and configure new servers based on organizational requirements. ◦ Configure and troubleshoot services such as SSH, FTP, NFS, and MySQL. 11. Database Management ◦ Manage MySQL databases, including performance optimization, backup, and recovery operations.
