I have a passion for business, particularly in enabling growth and change. I’ve worked with companies across the spectrum from global multinationals in mining and telecommunications to tech startups in Colorado and NGOs in Ethiopia. Such a diverse range of experience has taught me what it takes for a business to succeed, irrespective of its size, industry or location. I have started and built highly successful businesses in real estate that deliver significant cash-on-cash returns to our investors. There was considerable resistance from some areas of the organization who experienced significant impact to their business processes, key roles and governance. I coached the functional heads in supply chain, finance, HR and IT to assess the impact, diagnose development needs and create retention strategies. I managed all employee communications, benefits tracking and compensation realignment. I was also a key member of the senior HR team where I facilitated the development of the annual Group HR strategy and helped roll out a competency-based talent assessment program.

    When Telecom New Zealand upgraded its Internet connectivity from dial-up to Broadband, they underestimated both the demand for the product and the complexities involved in provisioning, billing and post-installation customer service. The end-end customer experience wasn't being managed. It wasn't even a thing so customers were bounced from department to department or their calls were dropped, others took months to get their service connected and then even longer to get it working properly or clean bills without mistakes. Chaos prevailed.I led cross-functional project teams tasked with analyzing the integration of functions from sales through provisioning to billing of DSL products to reduce bottlenecks, transform the customer experience and significantly reduce costs to serve. New customer kits were created and rolled out to thousands of new customers, core business processes were reengineered to facilitate cross functional collaboration and the call centers throughout the country were trained to provide outstanding customer service.
