I am a professional software engineer and hands-on architect with over 20 years of in the trenches experience across a variety of sectors including: government, financial, and aerospace. I've spent the last few years rewriting monolithic applications into event-sourced/event-driven microservices and loving every minute of it. I am leading a team in strangling their current monolithic application into an event driven microservice application. We are focusing on Domain Driven Design and Clean Architecture. Past Client: FSSA (State of Indiana)From 2016-2020 I helped a team of developers deliver several applications for different agencies of Indiana's Family and Social Services Administration. Though the first projects I worked on were monoliths deployed to WebSphere, I was instrumental in pushing toward cloud based microservice applications utilizing SOLID architecture and design. I helped lead the team in developing and deploying two critical projects: ACHIEVE and Enhanced Benefits Portal. These projects are a first for the state of Indiana in that they are deployed to an on-prem cloud with Kubernetes and use Mongo for a database. They are detailed more in the projects section below.
