Facilities Coordinator

As an Maintenance Team Lead, I supervise the maintenance at two government facility's. I provide directional support and direct my team. My tasks include mechanical maintenance, HVAC, actively promoting safety programs, client meetings , involved with the director and facility manger meetings, coordinating operations as well as enforcing protocols and policy's.

During this job I was responsible for working with plant operations and field operators, while maintaining safety and punctual management. I was required to solve problems with the field coordinators, work on high pressure steam lines (SAGD technology), as well as fabricating, maintaining and repairing piping plus equipment. On a daily basis I was constantly reading P&ID's, Civil, Vendor, Orthographic, and Isometric drawings. Lastly, I was responsible for insuring the maintenance crew signed all safety meetings and permits.

As Lead Hand and Relief Shop Manager, I was responsible for supervising the spooling department and ensuring quality control. Along with this I would oversee shop production, direct the team in fabrication of pipe fitting and work on structural assemblies using stainless steel and nonferrous material. This job also required me to collaborate with engineering, following quality control, connect piping and work with instrumentation drawings. I would insure total compliance with safety procedures in daily tasks, while fostering effective communication with team members, clients and senior management. This enabled me to continuously mentor, team build and hold a high safety culture.

In addition to the supervisory role, this position enabled me with the management skills to supervise a crew of 20 people and 10 b pressure welders during new plant construction. I was responsible for attending weekly production meetings with senior management and construction team. This ensured costs stayed with in budget while guaranteeing high level safety were met. My position also required me to educate staff on the proper procedures and guidelines during the intended project.

My roles throughout this position included the construction of sweat and sour skid packages while producing accurate measurements and cutting/assembling all components. Additionally I would analyze and review blue prints, flow sheets, isomeric and GA drawings and on a daily basis while revising issues that arose with engineers and draftsmen. I was in charge of preforming hydro testing and making sure product passes all requirements. Often times operating various pieces of equipment, from 20 ton cranes to a verity of welders while preforming process welding. This required me to assemble and disassemble skids that needed building or repaired daily.
