As the Lead Platform Architect, I am responsible for overseeing the comprehensive architecture and design of the Brella platform. My role involves identifying and resolving issues that could significantly affect the platform's security, performance, scalability, and maintainability. I make critical architectural decisions regarding the tech stack, design, tools, and services. I ensure that best practices are followed across all areas, from coding and feature implementation to infrastructure. I also ensure that every aspect of platform development considers cost—not only in terms of finances but also in terms of future adaptability and ongoing maintenance. I assist the CPO and PMs in making informed decisions to translate business needs into robust designs without compromising technical integrity. I establish clear technical standards to guide developers towards cohesive and consistent work practices. Additionally, I mentor developers and conduct regular training sessions to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to work independently while adhering to best practices and guidelines. I also facilitate team communication and promote knowledge sharing.

I became part of the Back End Team in May 2021, and my experience has been incredibly rewarding 🚀. In addition to standard coding tasks on our Rails-based backend, I am tasked with managing our infrastructure, which is predominantly based on Kubernetes and hosted on Google Cloud.

I created DynaBlogger to provide a blogging platform that is simpler than WordPress yet more feature-rich than other available options. As the only developer on this project, I am dedicating my full-time efforts to it. The technologies I'm using include Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Kubernetes, Rancher, among others.

At OnApp, a cloud specialist company, I lead a dynamic and agile team of developers focused on the licensing segment of our operations. I spearhead the design and development of the Licensing System, the OnApp Dashboard, and the backend system for data processing. These components are crucial for integrating our diverse products and services. The Licensing System enables us to collect and process vast amounts of data from all deployed clouds and our federated CDN. The Dashboard facilitates the management of licenses, users, and other data. In addition to overseeing the coding process, my responsibilities include project management and IT infrastructure administration. I play a significant role in making architectural decisions across various technical areas of the business and ensure my team adheres to test-driven development and other best practices for consistent quality. While I have prior experience managing small developer teams, OnApp offers me the opportunity to lead a geographically distributed team.

At Clash Media, I served as the lead architect, overseeing the design and development of a cutting-edge lead generation platform. This platform featured data collection through syndication and proprietary channels, advanced data validation, and a versatile delivery system. Additionally, I acted as a technical evangelist, promoting test-driven development and introducing open-source technologies to my team. This initiative facilitated the transition from a legacy platform reliant on Microsoft technologies to a more adaptable and scalable solution based on these new open-source tools. I was also in charge of designing, setting up, and maintaining the new IT infrastructure.

I worked on creating large-scale, data-driven solutions for the travel industry, including advanced search and booking engines, as well as various public-facing websites. My primary role involved leading the transition from outdated systems that relied on proprietary technologies to new, scalable, and flexible systems utilizing newer tech. By developing various booking engines, I had the opportunity to work on integrating with several third-party systems and APIs, which enhanced my skills and knowledge in areas such as handling large datasets and ensuring security.
