New Orleans was a start up of a new casino. As VP Human Resources:• Created HR Department and provided strategic and tactical plans for opening a new casino. Directed the operation of 23 remote recruiting locations that tested 10,000 applicants in two (2) months.• Company spokesman for recruiting during casino start up phase. Included newspaper interviews, live TV interviews, and radio and TV talk shows. Represented the company at meetings with mayor, city council, and state regulatory commission.• Temporary General Manager including the responsibility for casino operations, food and beverage, housekeeping, security, transportation, credit and cashiering.Las Vegas was a $250M expansion, refurbishment and marketing re-positioning of a resort and casino. Responsibilities and accomplishments include:• Led effort that increased staff from 3,000 to 3,800 employees, and raised service levels to successfully capture revenue from new market segments as part of a $220 MM expansion and refurbishment of hotel, casino, restaurants, lounges, banquet and meeting space, retail shops and entertainment venues.• Lead company negotiator for union contracts which resulted a pre-grievance procedure with the largest labor union that resulted in an 80% reduction of grievances and elimination of almost all arbitration board hearings.• Direct management responsibility for the Security and Surveillance Departments that protected the guests, employees and company assets.
