Responsible for the development of analytics solutions to monitor and improve the operational performance of one of the key systems for the AWAKE experiment (team of 100+ members, ~50 MCHF budget).• Leading the upgrade (~10 MCHF) of a key hardware system, performing budget profiling, coordinating international, cross-functional teams, and translating stakeholder requirements into technical specifications.• Used advanced statistical methods on operational data to extract strategic insights on key hardware components performance in CERN's accelerator complex. The analysis findings translated into savings surpassing 350,000 CHF.• Presented and defended results to senior management taking part to regular technical management meetings, translating complex ideas into clear and actionable insights.• Utilized Neural Networks (LSTM, RNN, CNN) to develop a new beam characterization method, achieving a 50% improvement in reconstruction accuracy through simulation-based training.• Automated and optimized experiment setup procedures using Bayesian optimization and derivative-free algorithms, reducing setup time from hours to minutes and simplifying experiment operations.• Implemented a real-time operational data analysis framework, building a data pipeline covering extraction, cleaning, preprocessing, analysis, and visualization of extensive datasets.

Drive performance characterization and optimization for critical section of latest accelerator in CERN complex.• Coordinate the experimental characterization and QA acceptance process for particle sources. I successfully completed and documented the validation process for 2 sources. • Analyse and optimise accelerators operational performance. Hands on experience analysing and modelling big datasets using Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib. • Provide technical guidance and supervision to 3+ students. I mentored students of different levels (Bachelor and Master’s students, PhD candidates) helping them in structuring and delivering highest standard results.

• Lead conception, design and launch of new particle accelerator for high precision particle therapy; liaised with multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers. • Understand project’s challenges and formalised them into appropriate optimisation frameworks: developed Python algorithms for automatic design of accelerator layout

During the experience at TERA, I carried out the following projects:• RF design and optimization of an SCDTL accelerating cavity for protons at 5 MeV and the related thermo-mechanical simulations.• Beam matching of the bending section of the TULIP (TUrning Linac for Proton therapy) machine. • Drafting of a review on the present status of development of rotating gantries for carbon ion therapy.

Responsible for the characterization of Non Evaporable Getters films for the Large Hadron Collider long straight sections. • Analyse performance data of more than 1000 vacuum gauges in the LHC. The study contributed to the preparation of the upcoming 3 years physics run. • Responsible for campaign mesurements on dedicated exeprimental test stand. The study allowed to identify the performance degradation of NEG films after several venting-bake-out cycles.
