- Responsible for $75 - $200MM in transportation spend.- Secure and maintain a stable, responsive, optimized, and properly utilized truck/intermodal capacity solution for assigned production facilities and distribution points.- Monitor and manage carrier activity to ensure consistency with carrier's contractual commitments and take corrective action plans to resolve discrepancies. - Seek out cost reduction opportunities through negotiations, enhanced cost controls, operational optimization, cost avoidance projects, and the pursuit of total cost of ownership savings.- Analyze facility shipments to ensure sufficient capacity is maintained for the facility and modify using service/cost analysis to meet the facility's shipping patterns.- Utilize Global Sourcing Strategic Procurement process to facilitate all sourcing events.

- Responsible for between $50 - $100MM in transportation spend. - Manage the outbound finished products and inbound recycled fiber transportation responsibilities for several International Paper mills.- Understand the complexity of the business units in my assigned area.- Analyze facility shipments to ensure efficient capacity is maintained for the facility and modify using service/cost analysis to meet the facilities shipping patterns.- Negotiate and contract the best overall value proposition for transportation services while following the CSSS process. - Seek out cost reduction opportunities through negotiations, enhanced cost controls, operational optimization, and cost avoidance. - Maintain carrier partnerships and develop relationships with minority suppliers to meet annual minority business spend objectives. - Monitor and manage carrier activity to ensure consistency with carriers contractual commitments and take corrective action to resolve discrepancies.

- Create executable and timely transportation plans for assigned facilities through the utilization of supply chain processes (SAP.)- Ensure shipments are monitored and exceptions resolved prior to failures. - Build and maintain relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups to meet cost and service objectives. - Proactively respond to requests utilizing knowledge from up and down stream business processes.- Collaborate with sourcing partners to understand trends, obstacles, and opportunities for improvement. - Lead and participate in deliberate/continuous improvement projects. - Identify, develop, and implement freight/cost savings initiatives. - Achieve performance measures including vehicle weights, best mode, open door times, direct loading, and on time pick up/delivery. - Provide on-call coverage of nights, weekends, and holidays.
