I am currently an Online English Tutor, working for a NYSE listed company, based in the Philippines. Prior to that, I was employed at Winston Park Primary School for 17 years.My husband and I have recently relocated, which is why I left the position I held for 17 years.As the School Librarian, my responsibility were to source books, catalogue and accession all books purchased (I supervised an Assistant to do this), propose and control a budget, order consumables and purchase display materials for the Library.My primary job was to provide lessons for each child in the school (600+) when they are advised on books to read, and are able to borrow books from our Library.I also created a stimulating environment to encourage all children to foster a love for reading, and treasure books.In addition to this, I was an English Specialist teacher, teaching English to which ever grade was in need of an English teacher, or where other teachers needed assistance. I also read through and moderated assessment and examination memorandums, and proof-read reports for teachers, including the Departmental HeadsI was also the Head of the Art Department, either teaching Visual Art to Gr 4 - 7- or advising other teachers who needed assistanceI have a strong Public Relations ability, and often initiated Team Building Workshops for Professional Staff Development exercises.I also created many murals and large-scale artworks for the school.I have excellent communications skills, and staff members and colleagues often sought my advice, or support when faced with a difficult situation. I often helped to mediate disagreements.I also have a penchant for seeing when people are in need of moral support, and was always the one who encouraged and motivated people in times of personal loss, bereavement or illness.
