Vivek heads TBI’s India practice and has overall accountability for developing the overall strategy, delivering engagements, and creating a culture of innovation. He is currently standing up the India practice, which includes advising ministers at both center and state, identifying and onboarding talent, and setting up operations.

Between 2020 and 2022, Vivek led a team of political advisors to support government ministers in the MENA region. He engaged senior leaders on reforms in issues of human and economic development. Vivek outlined strategic choices to address critical national-level gaps, developed multiple policy recommendations, and supported sensitive multi-country negotiations.

Vivek worked on World Bank’s South Asia & Human Development portfolio. In this role, he supported the team on managing the $10b+ portfolio specifically on operational and strategic issues. Vivek was also responsible for helping boost the uptake of technology-driven development solutions in ongoing and upcoming projects. Between 2018 and 2019, Vivek worked in the World Bank CEO's Office, with the Strategic Initiatives Unit that aims at making World Bank operations more agile, innovative and impactful. His key responsibilities include advising teams on how to organize work to be more responsive to client demands, and piloting initiatives that help build an evidence-base for World Bank-wide strategic shifts. Between 2015 and 2018, Vivek supported establishment of the Global Delivery Initiative (GDI) and led the development of DeCODE. His key contributions at GDI included providing strategic thinking on governance and outreach issues, harnessing machine learning techniques to develop operational solutions, in addition to conceptualization and development of the GDI platform.

Vivek worked as a research associate under Prof. Nada Eissa, and assisted in designing and launching a Randomized Control Trial to measure the impact of a new low cost tax-audit strategy. He also aided capacity building at Rwanda Revenue Authority to use fraud-analytic techniques and benchmarking analysis to identify potential tax evaders.

Vivek worked as a research associate under Prof. Kent Weaver, and co-authored four public management case studies on Public Distribution System reforms in Chhattisgarh (India) for use in training Indian government officials.

Vivek worked as a strategy consultant to drive business decision making using data analytics for Fortune 500 clients. In a key engagement he assisted a top three US healthcare payer to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its utilization management resulting in potential savings of $2bn. Vivek was also involved in drafting several project proposals for clients across the Airline, Social Media, and Oil & Gas sectors. He worked on designing and executing initiatives aimed at raising employee engagement within the firm.
