I built a global Business Continuity Management consulting practice - coordinating business development activities and proposals, overseeing projects, identifying and fulfilling recruitment needs, creating a multi-year vision for the BCM practice including revenue goals, staffing, and training requirements. I also led BCM programs for clients, providing strategic guidance, setting program goals, developing budgets, and coaching client executives and headed a geographically dispersed team of business continuity and crisis management professionals to develop, execute, and sustain global BCM programs for numerous companies. Tasks included: (I) Establishing program vision, business case, and governance structure; (II) Conducting business impact analyses and risk assessments; (III) Designing and implementing recovery strategies for processes and technology; (IV) Developing plans for emergency response, crisis management, business continuity, IT disaster recovery - and integrating them into one cohesive response mechanism; (V) Leading tests that ranged from individual function plans to multi-day, multi-division, multi-location integrated events; (VI) Creating training and awareness programs for all levels of personnel; and (VII) Establishing program measurement criteria and executive reporting.

I directed internal firm operations for practices in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia comprising strategic planning, real estate, technology, facilities management, office services, security, meetings and events, and information management.I developed the incident management process for the region that included triggers and escalations, communication protocols, recovery strategy planning and implementation, as well as coordination of recovery activities for availability of critical infrastructure and support services. Led the study of emergency preparedness and trauma systems in the U.S. and other countries to identify best practices. Developed recommendations to enable the appropriate level of emergency preparedness for the Louisiana healthcare system. Served as the primary liaison to various project committees, healthcare executives, political leaders, and trade associations. Authored the whitepaper that was included in the taskforce’s final report to the Governor and State Legislature.
