Overview: Enhanced and maintained the Ariba program roadmap for Cummins, and led the strategy and implementation of the Ariba Spend Management Suite across Cummins worldwide. Engaged with key stakeholders across Purchasing, IT, Finance & Manufacturing to align with strategic direction and purpose. Facilitated the Purchasing Change Board to make critical decisions about process improvement opportunities and subsequent implementations of those projects. Cummins uses the Ariba Spend Management Suite for generating indirect purchase orders from requisitions, conducting spend analysis, and performing contract management and electronic sourcing and reverse auctions.Specific accomplishments:• Successfully led the global strategy and implementation of a functionally and technically challenging upgrade to the Ariba Spend Management Suite, from version 8 to 9r1. Overview: Led global strategies across several IT categories (IT consulting/outsourcing services, Telecommunications & Software), with cumulative spend of over $250M, with the engagement of key stakeholders and internal customers. Used the TCO model in conducting sourcing events and negotiating contracts that reduced Cummins’ risk, liability and overall cost while optimizing the supplier base. Achieved cumulative cost reductions of $28M.Specific accomplishments:• Successfully developed the global IT Consulting category strategy and implemented the resulting IT Global Preferred Vendor sourcing program. Conducted a Six Sigma project that involved esourcing (eRFx) events and a mega reverse auction to evaluate the global vendor base. Made recommendations to the CIO’s board. Negotiated contracts, SLAs and penalties that achieved 20% in cost savings in the first year of the program alone.• Led sourcing initiative to select, purchase software and replace the Cummins Quality system with a Next Generation Quality system. Avoided cost of over $2.2M.
