Vivek Sheth is the Chief Design Crew & Founder at THE DESIGNSHIP, overseeing projects in Spatial Experiences, Narratives, Research, and Academics. A graduate in Exhibition (Spatial) Design from NID in Ahmedabad, Vivek's interest lies in exploring spaces, their functionality, and seamlessness to enhance user experiences. With a rich background in gallery and museum design, installation design, retail, hospitality, and large-scale exhibitions, Vivek's expertise extends globally, including a student exchange program at Politecnico Di Milano, Italy.In 2009, he joined NID as a Teaching and Design Associate, contributing to academic and research pursuits. His role included Chief Researcher for the revival of the MoMA collection at NID. Vivek has also served as a Teaching Associate at Indus University and an adjunct assistant professor at CEPT University. He continues to be a Visiting Faculty at NID & HKU, Utrecht, and other institutions, focusing on Scenographic Practices, Basic Design, Architecture Studios, and Experiential Graphics.As an Artist in Residence at Metaal Kathedraal, Utrecht, in May 2019, Vivek produced and directed a performative presentation on the 'Sense of the Mountains.' He also taught a short course on Spatial Narratives at HKU, Utrecht, during the same period. His extensive research on Mumbai's East Indian Catholics led to an invitation to teach 'Urban Design Theory and Practice' at Bard College, New York, in 2012.In 2014, Vivek was a fellow at UnBox Labs, engaging in discussions on Future Cities with a diverse team from India and the UK. The outcome was a research paper, "I Stood Up: Social Design in Practice," funded by the Arts & Humanities Council & the British Council.Vivek's diverse experiences, from academia to global collaborations, showcase his dedication to enhancing spatial design and creating meaningful experiences.
