About Vivek Sharma
Hello there ! I am Vivek.I am currently working as a Postdoc in the Materials Science and Engineering Dept. at Gyeongsang National University, South Korea. Before joining GNU, I had worked at SKKU on development of electrochemical sensors for the detection of pentane and other VOCs using YSZ based mixed potential sensors. This work is part of the 2,22 million Euros Euripides Project “Automated Responses to Sensed Pentane for Smarter Polyurethane Industry” https://ar2sp4spi.com/, which is financed by the European Union. I also worked on using mixed ionic conductors (like BZCYYb) and different sensing electrodes like perovskites to lower the temperature required for sensing of various gases such as pentane, propane etc. I am also adept at powder synthesis of electrolyte, membrane preparation as well synthesis of electrocatalysts for electrochemical sensing, HER and OER. Before SKKU, I was a Postdoc Researcher at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) wherein I worked on the fabrication of capacitive pressure sensors using 3D printing for ultra low pressure sensing. Stereolithography (SLA) was employed to 3D print the dielectric with various structural configurations to increase the sensitivity, linearity and limit of detection of the pressure sensor. Besides, Ag nanomesh printed electrode was also prepared using electrospinning. I also have experience in using FDM and SLA based 3D Printers and preparation of stretchable electrodes using Ag NWs and PDMS, preparation of capacitive and resistive sensors and triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs).I had completed my PhD in Analytical Chemistry from University of Bologna, Italy. My PhD research work had been focused on the development of Chemically modified electrodes (CMEs) as sensors for the determination of various oxidizable analytes like thiols, amines, phenols, antioxidants and sugars using hexacyanoferrates (HCF) and nanoparticles (like graphene oxide GO, multiwalled carbon nanotubes MWCNTs) as modifiers.I had completed my Integrated M.Sc. in Chemistry from the prestigious IIT Roorkee with majors in Physical Chemistry. I was the recipient of the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 scholarship which funded my PhD at Bologna.In my free time, I love reading, running and going on long hikes. Besides, I like cooking Indian and Italian dishes.

Summer Internship
Worked on optimizing the process of sample preparation of various raw materials (Oxide ore, slag, alumina, sinter etc.) for use in ICP-OES to find the sample’s chemical composition.
