With a background in physiology and developmental biology, I have a great interest in cardiovascular health and delivering informed and accurate information to the community. My research focuses on developing a clinically relevant model of metabolic syndrome and exploring the role of perivascular adipose tissue, in hopes to find therapeutic targets to improve cardiovascular disease comorbidities.Alongside my research, I am the Communications and Engagement Officer for the Centre for Cardiovascular Biology and Disease Research and empower the research community by being the ECR representative for the Australian New Zealand Microcirculation society. My recent role as the La Trobe Research Impact Coordinator has also broadened my perspective on designing research projects that reach beyond academic contributions.Outside of the lab, I am passionate about education equality and STEM outreach among students from diverse backgrounds and science communication across cultures. The accessibility to science is absolutely crucial to improving health outcomes and I want to help bridge that divide. I am team-orientated and inspired to be apart of the scientific community sharing the same goal: to improve the lives of others and am excited to contribute to the world of science and beyond.
