Created/designed an original experimental study on how childhood trauma and sense of community impacts mental health and wellbeing in adulthood.

Assisted with manuscript revisions and data analyzations on effortful control, human development and family studies; created and organized assignments on Canvas. Collected data and delivered study materials to participants for a study on COVID-19 treatments. Worked at both Penn State Health and Penn State Harrisburg.

Co-managed and designed a series of studies on how children view social hierarchies, oversaw and trained research assistants, worked as administrator during studies with children. Collected and entered data, ran Bayesian statistical analyses (binomial tests, paired sample t-tests) using JASP, conducted literature reviews, and published results on findings. Wrote three grant proposals (which were successfully approved) and received five fellowships for my research in this lab. Also presented findings from these studies at multiple conferences.

Helped organize a regional cognitive/language development conference (Southern California Symposium on Cognitive and Language Development), managed finances/expenses, assisted in web/brochure design.

Collaborated with graduate students and Dr. Azim Shariff to design my own study on people use mental illness as a form of blame deflection, collected/analyzed data (using one sample t-tests, binomial tests, Chi-square tests, and paired t-tests) on SPSS, reviewed relevant literature, and presented results at the Undergraduate Research Symposium at University of California, Irvine. I also assisted in web design and gained hands-on experience with Qualtrics.

Collaborated with graduate students to test concepts such as awe, perceptions on income inequality, and views about society. Ran experiments, collected and analyzed data. Presented the findings from a study on how immersion in nature decreases materialism at the University of California, Irvine’s Research Symposium.

Provided support and compassion to persons in recovery, collaborated with other professionals to develop/maintain treatment plans, assisted with medication management, wrote clinical notes and entered data, led group recovery sessions.

Advocated for the rights of children and young adults with disabilities (primarily autism spectrum disorder [ASD]), assessed treatment options. wrote therapy referrals, managed services and supports for children and families, provided person-centered support/resources

Implemented and helped design behavioral therapy treatment plans/provided behavioral therapy for children with ASD.

Designed and guest-lectured a section on social psychology, designed interactive study sessions and study guides for students. Aided students in-class, held tutoring/study sessions for students, led group discussions.
