Vivienne has worked in social work since 1985. She holds a nursing qualification, a social work qualification, a degree in sociology, and a postgraduate diploma in Care Policy and Management. She has worked in various social work areas both as a Social Worker and Manager. Since 1993 she has provided training and development services for adults from various fields of social work; identifying training needs, designing, delivering and evaluating these training programmes. She continues to work as a freelance trainer and consultant in social care. Her area of expertise is foster care and Domestic Violence.Vivienne became a strong advocate and development specialist in the area of competence based learning in the late 90s. She worked as an NVQ Assessor for 15 years, and in 1998 she was commissioned by an American Academy in Atlanta to consult with them on setting up their own NVQ system and childcare awards.Vivienne has taught at colleges on the following courses; BTEC National Certificate in Caring (Early Childhood), 'Basic Counselling Course, and Health and Social Care Level 4, Registered Mangers. She has also worked as a practice teacher for two years, facilitating several students to qualify as Social Workers.Between 2008 and 2010 she worked part of her time for Barnardos (children’s charity) as Lead managing a Domestic Violence Training and Consultancy. Introducing and supporting local authorities to use the Barnardos ‘Domestic Violence Risk Assessment Model’, a tool developed to safeguard children and other family members who are experiencing domestic violence. Today she works as an independent trainer/consultant/social worker/author. Vivienne is also an employment exit strategist coach and supervises independent social workers.
