This customer service and administration role was varied, and primarily included giving the very best service to the client. We served a wide range of clients, from babies all the way to people 100 years young, helping them with sensory loss, or helping to adjust to life with hearing aids. The audiologists were some of the nicest, most professional people I have ever had the pleasure to work with.

In this role I helped older people over the 'hurdle' when they first began using a computer - even if that hurdle seemed too high to get over and they wanted to throw their computer out of the window. Adminstration for Vision Australia Community Services at Mt. Eliza. Assisted seniors in low vision clinic, and other areas. Supported staff using their computers by teaching them about software specific to their needs, as well as basic computer use and email.

I was employed as an Adminstration Officer. My primary role was to support the program by providing admin, secretarial and other support. I revised the Frat Pack and assisted with the implementation nof the Karingal Health Walks - a program where people walk inside a shopping centre, with the support of physiotherapists and other support people. Co-owned this business with business partner. We were two women in the ceramic tile industry - highly unusual in the 80s. Hence we got a lot of publicity in magazines such as Vogue and Belle. Our shop was very different. Situated in the bayside suburb of Hampton, we designed the shop to flow by colour. It was completely different to other tile shops. Situated in the bayside suburb of Hampton, we designed the shop to flow by colour. It was completely different to other tile shops. We worked with every client individually. selecting paint, laminate colours, and advising on design aspects of the home led us to develop the batrhoom and kitchen renovation side of the business. We also realised that at the time very few border tiles were available in Australia. And the really stunning ones, all seemed to come from France, Portugal or Spain. We knew we had talented people in Australia, so we sourced a small company who were able to hand-paint our own border tiles. Eventually we had 11 people manufaccturing hand made embossed tiles, handpanted border tiles and screen printed tiles. We then made the logical move into wholesale and sold our handmade tiles throughout Australia. After 9 years we sold the retail business, so we could concentrate on the wholesale business, which we did for a further two years. Show less
