A survey of techniques for depth extraction in films: Joint research at Gjøvik University College between the Game Technology Lab (http://gtl.hig.no) and the Norwegian Color Research Laboratory (http://colorlab.no/).Proposed a method to estimate the position of depth layers in stereoscopic videos from monoscopic data. Structure from motion was used to create point clouds from the video frames, measuring accuracy against Kinect point cloud data. Clustering analysis and logistic regression algorithms were then used to estimate each depth plane's position and assign a depth value to the pixels in the original frame.
