Optimization of processes in metallurgical, chemical, food and industries alike depend on the knowledge of how fluid flow and turbulence affect heat and mass transfer and rate of chemical reactions. These phenomena is very difficult to measure due to opaqueness of the system which is normally at a high temperature. Therefore, modelling of the processes with CFD seems to be the only solution to get some insight into what is happening within.

We perform mid to large scale CFD simulations on complex geometries for a variety of industrial partners, mainly focusing on indoor ventilation, thermo-fluids systems, power generation, etc. By combining substantial experience in turbulent fluid flow modelling and expertise in some of the most powerful tools in the field such as SpaceClaim for geometry preparation, TGrid and Pointwise for grid generation, and Fluent or OpenFOAM for CFD computation, we are able to deliver reliable results in always limited time frame.

Implemented and used proper orthogonal decomposition for coherent structure identification in a compressible turbulent flow over an open three dimensional cavity. Large scale Direct Numerical Simulation were employed to generate data for modal decomposition. In addition, the Ffowcs-Williams and Hawkings integral equation was implemented to propagate noise sources to the acoustic far field.
