Vijay Shekhar has an extensive professional background. He began as a business analyst and moved into industrial management; studying the manufacturing process of the fashion industry closely in Taiwan. After a substantial period of time, he had become very inspired by the fashion industry and came to start his own brand. His entrepreneurial journey started back in year 2008 and his first serious venture was to establish, Import & Distribution of Women Fashion Accessories brand "Modacc" & "LaBelle" across India through various offline and online channels. Later he stumbled on to manufacture fashion accessories products like Handbags, Clutches, Wallets, Belts etc in the brand name "DAPHNE" with the help of state of the art automated production machineries, now growing to be one of the largest of its kind in India. His import & distribution business started with a vision to create a brand to cater Indian Women Fashion inspirations to match the level of international fashion inspirations and so is his manufacturing business. He began his expansion towards reaching masses with the help of long and fruitful partnership with Future Group Central Mall Stores, Globus Stores, Aditya Birla Retail, Reliance, Pantaloons, Flipkart, Jabong, Snapdeal, Amazon, Myntra etc.But the longer he followed this process, the more he felt that something was lacking and not too long ago, he looked at the mountains of non-biodegradable materials and decided to go green with fashion products. For him personally, the term ‘Think global, act local’ became a motivating force behind the brand. He felt an urge to source goods that were disposed of and repurpose them into products for people all around the globe to use. He discovered the power of making fashion accessories and other related products using recycled materials and never looked back.He has already created a product range of fashionably chic handbags, bar accessories, stationery, home and gift items, travel accoutrements and more.
