MissFancyPants Incorporated was formed in 2010 in response to the need to empower girls and young women by helping them to recognize, accept and appreciate their natural beauty, inside and out, and to educate them about the realities of the beauty, fashion and entertainment industries that perpetuate unrealistic and unattainable standards of beauty. Since its inception with the first summer camp program in 2010, MissFancyPants, Inc. has provided specialized programming for over 500 hundred girls and young women. MissFancyPants, Inc. seeks to educate girls and young women about positive body image and self-esteem through three types of programs: 1) an after-school workshop program; 2) an annual summer camp program; and 3) a mentorship program. Each of these programs uses a fashion, arts and leadership skills based curriculum to encourage positive self and body image, to cultivate and nurture an interest in the arts and to assist each of the program participants in developing her natural talents. "Our FancyPants were not designed to be one size fits all. We encourage freedom of expression as we outfit girls and young women with the invaluable understanding that no one is perfect--- being you requires no alteration".
