About Von Kirby Romo
After working as a science teacher for almost four years (a career I was never passionate about), I took my first big risk and deviated towards a new path. This decision has led me to explore my artistic side while pursuing a two-year degree in 2D/3D animation. At the end, the blend of these two worlds: one is strict and procedural while the other is free and explorative, has molded me into a multi-faceted individual. Here are some skills that I have developed during this journey. ➊ I am well organized and detail oriented | As part of my internal job as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the 3D Team, the Team Lead relies on my expertise with regards to identifying general issues and room for improvement suggestions. I also help with developing structures and pipelines that better benefit production. ➋ I have great oral and written communication skills | As an SME, I have been included to some client meetings where I provide feedbacks or respond to general queries. Working and communicating with the Account Managers: relaying helpful facts and explaining internal processes, has been integrated within my day-to-day role.➌ I showcase strong critical thinking skills and Data management | My skills with google spreadsheet and formula syntax have allowed me to create fully dynamic sheets and easily filterable internal trackers. My pre-made trackers for the 3D Team manages daily assignments and time logs. Additional data maybe added upon request. ➍ I am competent with my pedagogic skills and classroom management | As a licensed teacher and the main trainer for newly hired 3D (student) artist, I have developed internal curriculums and activities that best suits the training. Having been able to train more than six batches with around 15-25 students each allowed us to improve our processes and create competent 3D artists. ➎ Lastly, I have good technical Skills in 3D modeling and rendering | I have been working as a 3D artist using Autodesk 3DS Max and the V-ray plugin. I am constantly growing as an artist as I try to find ways to help the team develop their skills. Generally, my experiences up to know has developed my versatility and dependability. I am always willing to learn something new and grow as a person and as an artist.
