Working in Enterprise Backup & Recovery (EBR).

IT contractor to IBM with an AT&T contract working as an Enterprise Backup & Recovery (EBR) Planner. Evaluate assigned projects for application backup and disaster recovery strategy. This includes operating system, application, and database backups as well as backup methodology. Work with proprietary AT&T front-end software to evaluate how assigned servers are backed up, including the backup media, and backup schedule. Research as necessary existing systems for current backup and recovery design and adjust for growth as required.

WFS Maintenance Support:Responsible for the support of the TSS side of the Windows AD development domain Windows File Sharing(WFS) production environment: Managed disaster recovery infrastructure using EMC SAN equipment and 15 Windows 2003 servers running on Dell hardware:5-CX300’s & 3-CX700’s for storage, using EMC "Navisphere" for SAN LUN configuration, EMC "OnCourse" software for replication from remote office source to hub site host and Verita "Netbackup" for "B2D" on hub site hosts. 31TB of “replication” SAN drive space in use and 70TB of “B2D” SAN drive space. Responsible for EMC "OnCourse" software agent setup, configuration and status on ~160 Windows remote source servers and 3 OnCourse master DB/Scheduler servers. Dell hardware and firmware testing used in the WFS environment: testing new hardware, firmware and loadset images for use in production environment.VMware setup and configuration in the NYCT office using EMC SAN equipment and 3 ESX servers v3.02 running on Dell hardware: CX300 for storage, using EMC Navisphere for SAN LUN configuration. Dell 6850’s for ESX server hosts. 3-ESX hosts running 18 “guest” Windows 2k3 servers using 9TB of disk space on the EMC SAN hardware.Responsible for Windows server 2003 quota software testing, configuration, setup and documentation.Responsible for all aspects of Intermine “FileCensus” software package: agent install and configuration on ~160 WFS servers, 1 master DB host server.WFS server monitoring for ~160 Dell servers using a mixture of 6800’s, 2800’s, 2950’s, R900’s: using Dell IT Assistant(ITA) for hardware monitoring on a daily basis, used ITA to push new firmware, runs reports on inventory, service & asset tags.Novell Netware CNE v3.x, v4.x, v5.x, v6.x

National Duties: Team member responsible for design of National Novell NDS tree using Netware v4.11, development of National guidelines for standardization of server hardware configurations and basic Netware setup using Netware v3.12 thru Netware5 with NDS v8 and planning of National Netware 5 upgrade of all existing Netware v4.11 servers. National Novell NDS tree management, with primary responsibility for overall NDS tree health. Built/manage eight Netware 5 servers used for National NDS tree master replication servers. Setup and testing of new server hardware for Netware v3.12 thru Netware 5. Monitoring of all Novell servers in production tree using Compaq Insight Manager for hardware issues and Netpros’ Dsexpert for NDS issues. Overall network support for 6 Area Divisions, 90 offices including, LAN / WAN connectivity, Novell NDS, CIM, Symantec AntiVirus, client connectivity.East Division Duties: Assisted with planning and implementation of upgrading local offices server hardware using Compaq hardware and running Netware v3.12. Also assisted with planning and implementation of switched network backbone in local offices using Cisco products including Catalyst 5505’s, 5000’s, 3100’s, 2924’s, 2900’s, and 1200’s. Assisted local offices with National project for server consolidation. Reduced the total number of servers in East Division by 40% by replacing older Compaq servers with new equipment therefore enabling each office to do more with less equipment. Office Technology Manager duties: Managed six Novell Netware v3.12 file servers with Computer Technician II duties. Constructed six servers using Compaq, Dell and Intel hardware. Configured Netware v3.12 for optimum performance and reliability. Server maintenance included: adding/removing network users, installing/configuring network software, set up/installed file server hardware/software upgrades, setup/troubleshot network printing. Installed/configured Fast-Tax software. Planned/implemented network design to include file server hardware and cabling requirements. Troubleshot to component level, repaired and replaced components on a microprocessor based telephone autodialer system. Troubleshot printers, typewriters and other electronic equipment.
