Graduate electronics engineer from Bournemouth University and recently qualified Project Manager.Broad scope of experience, roles and industries with technical and managerial skills, over 10 years experience in the electronics and controls sectors.Throughout those years I have shown the flexibility to take on any role required. I easily adapt to changing circumstances, successfully taking on tasks without previous experience.I am a positive solution based person always looking to move from problems and concerns to actions and successes. I flourish in multi-tasking and multi-faceted roles.I am working on numerous personal projects from a hobby web design and marketing business to running a not for profit organisation dedicated to delivering community projects that support sustainability and local resilience. The Transition Town group delivered its first project in just 2 weeks, securing funding from several local councillors to cover our insurance and other start up costs so we are now in profit after one event and have two more public events with no additional costs. We have generated a lot of interest and developed a link with the Parish Church, Town Museum, local allotment and other sustainability groups. I also designed and built the website as part of my hobby webs design business. www.transitionblandford.co.uk

I restarted the Blandford Transition group in mid September and have already delivered our first sustainability project that has raised awareness, money and interest in the group and of sustainability. With several projects planned for 2018 I hope to make our Transition group a talking point amongst other Transition Town groups. We aim to build local resilience to external influences and change, in particular climate change and extreme weather events, economic fluctuations such as the 2008 crash as well as oil dependency and commodity price shifts and finally the impending changes of automation and AI.The idea is to use local resources including people, to build sustainability and resilience in the town and surrounding villages. We are dedicated to working with Government, politicians, charities, businesses etc to ensure that the environmental and economic concerns held by many are addressed. We are building a network of active and positive people to create community projects that will make the town a better place, not just to protect against the potential end or stagnation of economic growth but right now and every day even in the prosperous times. We will be starting small with simple easy to manage projects to raise awareness of our aims, generate a small revenue and build a reputation for delivering high quality community projects. From there we will progress up to much larger scale projects that include Government, local businesses, entrepreneurs and other organisations. We plan to access some of the huge amounts of money available for environmental, community and business development projects. These projects will bring jobs to the town and generate wealth, a wealth that stays in the town because we are using local resources to maintain them. The big projects are ambitious, but if you do not dream big how can you receive big?

Hobby business designing websites and helping clients with their marketing. I would love to build this into a serious project but have decided that as my partner is self employed I should not be. Simply helping friends and family with their needs. I am currently redesigning the SoccerPitch 6-a-side league providers website and will then manage their online marketing strategy. I also created the website for the not for profit organisation I run, www.transitionblandford.co.ukA project for my partner, Annabelle Valentine, to design a website and provide marketing support with her art business was very successful. Annabelle is a traditional realist oil portrait artist working from her gallery in Blandford Forum. To help her have more time to paint, I am providing support with all aspects of administration and marketing. The business has grown successfully with my help, doubling turnover in the first year. We secured marketing commissions with Sir Oliver Letwin MP and Richard Drax MP. Both paintings are in progress and are painted at live promotional events. Annabelle is the portrait artist for the Queen's Gurkha Signals and has also painted for the Royal Signals which is leading to more military work.

I was a member of the band Peach Beach, playing a chilled out rootsy acoustic style. I play bass guitar, which is a change for me. This was the first band I have seriously played a stringed instrument. We built a reputation in the area and have played support for one of our idols, Mishka and reached the final of Bournemouth Unplugged. Every venue we have played at asked us back again.I am available as a session drummer for live or studio work. Predominantly offering my skills with various types of hand drum. My forte being Darbouka, an Arabic hand-drum typically used with belly-dancing. I have worked with Nathan J Lark playing percussion for him on 90.1 Hope FM.I am also writing and recording my own music in my amateur home studio.

I maintained the product test equipment, updating the hardware and software for new products and to improve the functionality. Software was designed to be user friendly for the production staff to increase efficiency as well as being robust when testing the products. The test rig involved PC software which connected via RS232 and USB to a test jig utilising two microprocessors. I worked with the code both on the PC and embedded in the processors.Diagnosing and repairing faulty products was another of my responsibilities along with ensuring new products met design specifications.I received a significant amount of feedback from customers stating that I provided the best technical support in the industry. I was always quick to respond, clear in my language and detailed in my explanations. I wrote the technical documents for our products.I created a system to manage the purchasing requirements based on sales figures ensuring that finished stock and all build materials were available when required whilst ensuring materials were not excessively stocked.Defining inspection criteria and implementation for goods-in and assembly steps at all stages of the process. Being responsible for technical support and customer returns meant that robust quality procedures were a strong focus for me.Production processes were constantly reviewed and I was a key developer of a database system that provided traceability of components and products by capturing test and assembly histories. Clear and concise work instructions were written alongside new and improved processes to ensure the production line ran smoothly and effectively meeting the growth in sales and new products without the need for additional staff.
