High Risk Labor & Delivery/Perinatal Special Care Unit; Provides triage care, antepartum and labor support, transitional care; also provides care as circulating nurse for emergent and scheduled cesarean deliveries, and post-anesthesia care in a large hospital setting on an 13-bed L&D Unit averaging 250-300 deliveries/month, 4 bed triage, 2 operating rooms, and 3 bed post-anesthesia care area. Works closely with staff of the region's only Level IV NICU for complicated cases.

High Risk Labor & Delivery; Provided triage care, labor support, transitional care; also provided care as circulating nurse for emergent and scheduled cesarean deliveries, and post-anesthesia care in a large hospital setting on an 11-bed L&D Unit with 2,000 deliveries a year, 4 bed triage with 7,000 annual outpatient visits, 3 operating rooms, and 3 bed post-anesthesia care area.

Labor and Delivery Unit with Special Care Nursery; Directed staff on a 10-bed Labor and Delivery Unit averaging 140 deliveries/400 outpatient visits per month, 2-bed OR, 3-bed PACU, connected with a 6-bed Level Two Special Care Nursery. Completed 2 week field medical care training exercise with the US Marines; worked with multi-disciplinary health care team to deliver trauma nursing care in an austere environment.

Labor and Delivery/Special Care Nursery Unit; Directed staff on a 18-bed LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) Unit, averaging 60 deliveries/150 outpatient visits per month, comprised of a 2-bed Level One Nursery care unit, 7-bed Postpartum, 2-bed OR, 1-bed PACU. Hospital Nursing house supervisor, managed beds and staffing in a small hospital.Chair of the ECON (Executive Committee of Nursing); Led case management discussions; Wrote, reviewed, advised hospital instruction and maternal-infant unit policies to reflect evidence-based research and best practice.Facility ALSO (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics) Program Coordinator; Led and instructed quarterly classes of up to 12 people to certify staff in critical-thinking skills.

Multi-Service Ward; Directed comprehensive care on a 22-bed Multi-service ward in a small community hospital, caring for a wide spectrum of moderate acuity patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric patients with multiple co-morbidities. The MSW served as the inpatient unit including Same day Surgery, Labor and Delivery, Newborn care, Medical-Surgical, and Mental Health. Labor and Delivery averaged 10-15 deliveries/month with 30 outpatient visits/month.Facility ALSO (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics) Program Coordinator; Led and instructed quarterly classes of up to 12 people to certify staff in critical-thinking skills.Coordinated training program for entry-level medical assistants including oral boards, mega-code drills and written exams to foster unit staff continuing education.

Labor & Delivery Unit; Provided triage care, labor support, transitional care; also provided care as circulating nurse for emergent and scheduled cesarean deliveries, and post-anesthesia care in a large hospital setting on an 11-bed L&D Unit with 250-300 deliveries a month, 5 bed triage with 600-700 annual outpatient visits, 3 operating rooms, and 2 bed post-anesthesia care area.

Perinatal Special Care Unit; Coordinated and provided direct nursing care on a 21-bed high risk antepartum, postpartum and complex newborn unit with average daily census of 14 patients. Frequently cross-trained on Labor and Delivery to assist in staffing needs.
