As a postdoctoral investigator I worked on research that advances the state of the art in probabilistic representations of hydrothermal plumes in deep ocean environments that assist with human and robotic decision-making.

I am a Future Faculty Postdoc Fellow at Northeastern University researching methods by which robots can support complex and dynamic sampling tasks in natural environments. With an applied focus on supporting biogeochemical science in marine environments, my algorithmic work highlights the complexity of sampling and modeling spatiotemporal distributions in order to assist in real-time decision-making by autonomous agents and their human teammates.

A graduate researcher in the MIT-WHOI (Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution) Joint Program, in the departments of Applied Ocean Physics and Engineering, and Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering. My doctoral thesis, "Perceive, Predict, and Plan: Robotic Expeditionary Science in Oceanic Spatiotemporal Fields," was defended in Dec 2022.

The Fulbright Program funded my work at the Centre for Biorobotics, located with the Tallinn University of Technology campus. There, I worked on control and autonomy of a low-cost biomimetic underwater vehicle, the U-CAT, which uses turtle-like fin propulsion to investigate marine archaeological sites. My work focused primarily on autonomous strategies for unknown, enclosed, space exploration.
