Viviana Martinez Email and Phone Number

I am a second year student at the University of Washington completing a Masters of Library and Information Science. I am interested in working with cataloging and metadata, particularly within academic libraries or archives. My passions lie in using my diverse experiences to further improve open access catalog systems to accurately represent minorities and communities of color. ​Previously, I have interned for Dr. Catherine Gudis at UC Riverside’s community digital archive A People’s History of the Inland Empire where I transcribed and cleaned up data from digitized oral histories, photography, calendars, and newsletters. Recently, I am completed an internship at Providence Archives where I collaborated with archivists to gain bibliographic control over their current book collections. This new school year I will be joining the Interlibrary Loan department at the UW Libraries and completing a DFW at the Seattle Public Library, where I will be working on archival description of collections.
