I worked in College compliance, executing a variety of time-sensitive and complex key projects and reports. I was responsible for managing Messiah College's summer camp and volunteer communications, education materials, policy development, and compliance College-wide, in partnership with internal and external constituencies. I found the work that I did related to the protection of minors particularly engaging, as I have both passion for and expertise in working with interpersonal violence prevention and programming.

One of the engaging projects I worked on in this College compliance position was designing an employee Code of Conduct. I also worked closely with the Title IX program on our campus and with the College's Grievance Review Board.

I wrote and researched various compliance-related materials for the College. One of my proudest accomplishments during my tenure in this position was co-writing an application for the Office of Violence Against Women's FY2015 Grants to Reduce Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence and Stalking on Campus, which the College was awarded. I worked closely with the Vice President for Human Resources and Compliance and provided support on an array of executive-level projects. This greatly expanded my understanding of compliance in higher education.

I worked closely with all aspects of the recruitment process, including implementing PeopleAdmin, a recruitment and applicant-tracking software, composing and posting ads detailing employment opportunities, processing resumes and maintaining an applicant database and interviewing candidates for employment. I assisted hiring managers and search committees with navigating the recruitment and hiring processes, and worked on a recruitment toolkit resource for these constituencies.I also aided in the organization and execution of employee events. I had the privilege of promoting the implementation of a philanthropical element to the College's annual Christmas event. I particularly enjoyed my work in coordinating an employee music video and conjunctional charity drive.

The mission of the Collaboratory for Strategic Partnerships and Applied Research is to foster justice, empower the poor, promote peace and care for the earth through applications of academic and professional disciplines. My role in the Collaboratory was to promote focused, student-empowered, international relief work by planning, executing and managing the logistics of international site team travel. I served as a liaison between outside organizations (both international and domestic) and Collaboratory interests, while also coordinating administrative details such as booking travel, managing a donor database, processing financial reports and supervising student workers.I created a site team training manual and a site team handbook for advisors. I was able to analyze and update many administrative processes to increase the efficiency of the organization. I also managed the implementation and interface of the Intercultural Office's Terra Dotta Studio Abroad software with the Collaboratory site team process

I served as the chief administrator for a painting business. This entailed composing bids and advertising materials for the company, and participating in the billing process. I also provided finishing work for newly-constructed homes and commercial buildings.

My role in the YWCA's Violence Prevention and Intervention Services program was to counsel teen victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as to provide prevention education in local high schools. I counseled twenty child/teen victims of domestic violence and sexual assault via an educational model of empowerment and facilitated two support groups for female teen victims of sexual assault. I also implemented the Rallying Youth Organizers Together (RYOT) Against Rape prevention education program into Harrisburg High School. I learned valuable lessons on how to effectively respond to emergencies and how to advocate on behalf of victims by taking calls on our crisis hot line. I also gained knowledge about the justice system as I accompanied, supported and educated victims at Protection From Abuse (PFA) hearings.

During my internship at the NSVRC, I assisted in the compilation, editing and updating of resource materials. I was able to conduct valuable research, including exploring online social networking tools to evaluate their benefit to the organization. I also had the privilege of networking and learning at the Spring 2008 Association of Sexual Assault Centers Conference.
