After completing his B.Tech in Textile Engineering from the prestigious IIT- Delhi, Atul decided to join his family business. Leveraging his engineering background, he set up a worsted spinning mill in New Bombay to spin fine silk yarns from silk waste. In doing so, he was exposed to the handloom weavers in the major silk weaving centre of India and was convinced that their work would be well appreciated in the American markets. This foresight led him to begin exporting fabrics to America and Europe.During one his trips to Europe, he came across Linen and fell in love with it instantly. He decided to bring this fabric back to India and has been a pioneer in promoting Linen in the Indian market ever since. He was one of the first weavers of Linen in India and has been a driving force in taking it from being a relative unknown entity to a fashion chic fibre in India in the last two decades. His experience, innovativeness and technical knowledge has allowed the company to produce the widest range of Linen fabrics in India.Today, he oversees the Home Furnishing Fabrics, Apparel Fabrics, Linen Fiesta divisions and all of the manufacturing units.His long-term goal is to spread his love for the “natural feel” of fabrics to new product groups and markets.
