Van has practiced law for nearly 40 years focusing on the areas of class actions, complex litigation and professional liability, with extensive experience in the representation of professionals, specifically architects and engineers. Van has served as a lecturer on topics involving construction law and architect/engineering liability. He was co-author of “Construction Management: Evolving Roles and Exposure of Construction Managers and Architects/Engineers” which was published as part of 12 Am. J. Trial Advoc. 55 in 1988. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Alabama, as well as the United States Supreme Court. Van prides himself on establishing a trustworthy relationship with each of his clients to develop a plan of action to meet his clients needs. He has a track record of successful defenses that has earned the respect of his clients and the admiration of his fellow attorneys. He handles multi-party cases with complex pleading issues that involve taking and defending numerous depositions, including those of experts in all fields of design, construction and remediation. A summa cum laude graduate of Spring Hill College, Van went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama.
