As a Muay Thai insructor, I plan and implement fun, interactive, technique-oriented instruction to a diverse student body. Students in classes range in age from 12-65 and range in experience from brand-new to 20+ year veterans of martial arts. I use continuing educational practices and background knowledge to support students in their goals for fitness, physical health, mental well-being, and technical mastery within their martial arts practices. I collaborate with other instructors across the world, travel to training camps and gyms in other states and countries including Iowa, Oregon, Spain, and Thailand in order to maintain a high standard of up-to-date knowledge about techniques and best-practices for safe and effective training.

As a full-stack web developer at Evereve I had incredible opportunities to work with many technologies. I loved working with my small, hard-working team as we built a new e-commerce site and maintained/updated the current one. I worked in: Javascript, ReactJS, HTML/CSS, Python, SQL, ETL, AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, API gateway), PHP, Magento2, Blaze, and Elasticsearch. I enjoyed problem solving every day and working toward making the online experience better and better. I also found myself tending toward being behind the scenes working in database integrations and custom API development.

I chose to attend Prime Digital Academy for its intensive, fast-paced immersion educational bootcamp experience. In the 18 week program, I was able to learn to work with HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, jQuery, SQL, Node, Angular, Express and GitHub. We worked on collaborative teams and solo projects. At Prime, instructors and guest speakers explicitly teach best practices for communicating with others with the goal of workplace harmony, productivity and overall positive shared experiences. Students leave Prime prepared to adapt and succeed in demanding work environments in the tech industry. Prime also instilled in me the drive and expectation to continually learn!
