Currently a materials scientist and deputy group leader in the Manufacturing and Advanced Microscopy group at LLNL, I lead several projects investigating the relationship between processes, microstructures, and mechanical or corrosion properties of additively manufactured metals (titanium alloys, stainless steels, eutectic HEAs). In addition, I lead the experimental team developing new refractory bcc HEAs at LLNL for hypersonic applications. More generally, I actively focus on developing a coherent group where different in-situ characterization techniques (AFM, SEM, TEM, HEXRD…), from atomic to macroscopic scales, work together with simulations (MD, DDD, CPFE, CA…) to accelerate our understanding and control of materials properties. I received bachelor and master’s degrees from the University Paul Sabatier and a PhD from the CNRS (National Center of Scientific Research) in Toulouse, France. Before moving to LLNL, I spent two years at the Johns Hopkins University as postdoc. I’m part of 2 patents and published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
