Project manager delivering specialized projects for client County departments from initiation to close-out. Projects include radio communications tower facilities, storm drain realignment, demolition & Hazmat remediation, emergency high voltage electric generator installations, and other unique & diverse challenges.

Provided hazardous materials consulting and support to Los Angeles County Project Management Division during Northridge Earthquake disaster recovery projects. I performed damage assessments & inventories, restoration scopes of work, and documentation support for the County's claims to FEMA and California OES. After the disaster recovery project ended, I continued his consulting practice assisting a small engineering firm, AVP Consulting Engineers, managing several projects including restoration of historic homes on Pasadena and ADA compliance assessments of private elderly nursing homes.

K&D was a nationally recognized environmental engineering subsidiary of Hill International, Inc. Mr. Volatile held various positions of increasing responsibility until the acquisition and subsequent consolidation of the firm in 1994. Mr. Volatile started with the firm as a cost consultant and industrial hygienist performing building assessments, abatement designs, and cost consulting at an early period in the development of the hazardous materials abatement industry.In addition to implementing the young firm’s purchasing & equipment inventory systems, Mr. Volatile was instrumental in developing productivity and cost data for remediation and abatement construction which was incorporated in several feasibility studies and publications. He also served as adjunct faculty to New York University, Tufts University, and Temple University teaching cost estimating subjects for their EPA certification courses for Asbestos Management Planners.As the company expanded its presence nationally, Mike was asked to transfer to the Los Angeles office in 1990 to assist key clients engaged in number of high profile renovation projects. Clients such as Prudential, JMB Properties, Rose Bowl, and UCLA benefited from Mr. Volatile’s professionalism and experience.

Mr. Volatile was employed by ABS as a structural concrete designer/detailer and was quickly promoted to the estimating department. Mike was eventually responsible for the production & operation of a 3 person estimating department.

As a US Navy Reservist, Mike Volatile performed numerous shipboard duties including helmsman, aftersteering helm, navigation (satellite & celestial), instrument maintenance, and chart & publication updates.
