Volker leads the software engineering division at the Fielmann Group. Fielmann digitises the optical industry to the benefit of customers without compromising quality. We are currently working on online glasses purchasing in Fielmann quality. The future lies in the intelligent combination of personal advice (incl. AI) and digital services, in other words the omni-channel business model and global production and logistic network.Volker supports this business transformation with his team by following a in cross-functional and self-organized mindset within the agile teams. In a greenfield approach, the relevant backbone processes are redesigned using SAP cloud native services and S/4 HANA. New omni-channel processes and innovations such as AI-based customer services and distributed order management are introduced. Internal digitization is also supported by the introduction of a company-wide communication and collaboration platform for 20,000 employees based on Microsoft 365.Volker has more than 10 years of professional experience in omni-channel processes and consulting in the digital business models. Prior to joining Fielmann, Volker initiated, designed and built digital businesses in the field of edutainment, cross-channel commerce and healthcare in Europe, USA, India and Southeast Asia at Bertelsmann, one of the world's largest media groups, which is also active in the service and education sector.
